How to Make a Brochure

In this lesson you will learn how to create a tri-fold brochure.

1. Use the "Download" button below to download the file for this lesson (optional)

2. Open InDesign

3. Click "Create New"

4. Select "letter", set the dimensions to inches, select landscape orientation, three columns, two pages, turn off facing pages, and set your column gutters to .75 inches and your margins to .375 inches

5. Click "create"

6. Use the "rectangle" tool to draw a box in the top of the far right panel of the first page (this is the front page) and fill it black

7. Use the File tab to "place" the logo you downloaded in the black box and resize it as needed

8. Draw another rectangle below the box, set the border weight to 0, and fill with text

9. Draw a rectangle in the top of the far left panel on the first page (this is the centerfold), set the border weight to 0, and add a title

10. Copy and paste that box into the center panel on the first page (this is the back panel) and all three panels on page 2 and adjust the fill color, text, and text color to your liking

11. Draw a tall rectangle on one of the panels, set the border weight to 0, and fill it with text/images to your liking

12. Copy and paste that box into the rest of the panels (besides the front panel) and adjust the text/images, fill color, and text color to your liking

13. Use the File tab to save and export your file
